Each Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., from July 12 through August 23, 2017, we’ll be bringing high quality talent for family-friendly performances on the lawn in front of the pavilion. Attendees can bring their own picnics or purchase food and beverages from vendors at each concert.
Here’s the full line-up of artists for Summer 2017:
July 12th – Wilmington teen jazz artist, Maya Belardo
July 19th – Baltimore-based social justice singer-songwriter and Baltimore rap artist Jahiti
July 26th – Wilmington Funk band The Souldaires
August 2nd –Soul, Smooth Jazz, Blues and Gospel group Pristine Raeign
August 9th – Wilmington spoken-word, soul and hip-hop artist Richard Raw
August 16th – Percussive piano-playing vocalist Joy Ike
August 23rd – Youth night featuring high school aged performers
Summer nights sitting out on the lawn in front of the pavilion, listening to music and eating and drinking with friends are just the idyllic scene FOWP envisioned when the Sugar Bowl was completed in 2015. Each week’s musical act(s) will be complemented by additional arts performers including jugglers, improv actors, spoken word artists, puppeteers, magicians, face painters and the like. We will have lawn games available to visitors to play with as they enjoy the outdoor entertainment.
